Giorgio Armani 1980s Modular Pillow Neck Tank Commander’s Jacket

Giorgio Armani is widely regarded as the finest and most successful designer in the history of Italian fashion. In the 70s he worked under Nino Cerruti, where he learnt his trade, after this he spent several years freelancing for other fashion houses before starting his namesake label “Giorgio Armani” it was in 1976 he released his first Ready to Wear collection, Giorgio was seen as the “God” of fashion design for almost two decades from the mid 70s through to the early 90s. His pieces feature a wide array of techniques, mostly using technical and innovative fabrics and taking military influences throughout a majority of his work.

This Jacket is constructed of a heavy cotton, with a nylon metal weft to the fabric, it shimmers both green and red depending on lighting. It features detachable sleeves, enabling the jacket to convert to a vest, a pillow neck collar with concealed hood, and multiple pockets. Heavy duty Riri zippers are used throughout.

An incredibly shaped jacket, elongated sleeves, short boxy body, my favourite jacket in existence (that I know of lol)
